šŸ‘€ Know a Series A Founder Looking for VC $$$?

Intro us over email at [email protected]. We wanna meet 'em

Hey, this is Napkin Notes: the only newsletter that knows youā€™re stressing about hitting those Q1 targets in 9 days so we turn intense scenes from Dune 2 into memes to make you smile.

Speaking of great box office movies, we have one of our own coming up.

And weā€™ve just launched an open call for founder pitches for those who want to present on the big day.

Wait a sec, donā€™t you wanna meet the VCs youā€™re pitching before you fill out the pitch form?

  • šŸ˜¢ The bad news: Zendaya and TimothĆ©e Chalamet canā€™t come

  • šŸ¤Æ The good news: these 4 heavy-hitter VCs can

If youā€™ve been in the startup world for more than 2 weeks, you should know these 4 faces.

But if you live under a rock (excuse our French) and donā€™t recognize them, hereā€™s some bios to prove why they should be at the TOP of your pitch list šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

  • Andrew Wilkinson is the Co-founder of Tiny (which recently went public) and MetaLab Design, one of the worldā€™s top design agencies. After rapid growth, he used the profits to diversify into a variety of businesses, whichĀ formed Tiny. Andrew has gone from working out of his apartment over a decade ago to overseeing a group of companies with more than 300 employees and tens of millions in revenue. Heā€™s also made multiple appearances on project collaborations with Andrew Huberman, My First Million, and Bill Ackman.

  • Michele Romanow is a Dragon from CBC Dragonsā€™ Den, Co-Founder & Exec Chairman of Clearco, the world's largest e-commerce investor which has invested over $5B to 10,000 entrepreneurs in 13 countries. Michele is a serial entrepreneur who started 6 companies before her 35th birthday. She previously co-founded SnapSaves, acquired by American tech giant Groupon, and Buytopia.ca, acquired by Emerge. She also serves as the director for Vail Resorts ($6.8B) and was Softbankā€™s first Canadian investment at a near $2B valuation launching Clearco into unicorn status.

  • Peter Pham is the co-founder of Science Venture Studio where they co-build companies that are at the intersection of Culture & Tech with founders in Santa Monica. Dollar Shave Club ($1B acquisition by Unilever), Dogvacay/Rover ($2.3B acquisition by Blackstone) & Liquid Death are some of the best examples of the companies they've incubated. They are currently deploying fund III with over $220M AUM. If youā€™re a founder looking for a VC check, Peter would be a dream meeting.

  • And Ryan Holmes, a serial entrepreneur most notably recognized for being the founder of Hootsuite, the worldā€™s most widely used social relationship platform, with 20 million-plus users, including more than 800 of the Fortune 1000 companies. Heā€™s also the founder/board member of LOI: a startup accelerator/venture fund group focused on backing entrepreneurs under the age of 30, has written 2 books, written 150 angel checks and has amassed 2 million followers on social.

Howā€™s that for a VC panel to pitch?

We hear you Steph, itā€™s a lot to take in.

But we know the readers can handle it.

šŸ‘€ Wanna Pitch Them?

To bring you into the process, hereā€™s our checklist:

This is where you come in readers

Know any Seed/Series A founders that would be great to pitch these 4 VCs? Forward them this email and have them apply.

As long as they have:

  • $100k+ in revenue

  • Have $500K left in their Series A round for viewers

  • And are available to pitch virtually on April 24th @ 12 pm PST

Weā€™d love to hear from them.

šŸŽ„ How Bout that Event with Sam Parr?

Anyone else still buzzing from that Sam Parr X Ryan Holmes pitch event we had on Tuesday? We know Andrew, Milly, Quincy, Harrison, Cein, Monty and Raveena are.

Wondering who the heck they are? No sweat.

Theyā€™re the finalists that got air time to pitch Ryan and Sam. And since we had over 30 pitches submitted (which was awesome), we had to bring to the list to some judges to narrow it down to 7.

If you miss the pitch event, itā€™s super easy to re-watch the pitches. All you gotta do is:

  • View this post-event page

  • Click on any of the pitches to see their idea/deck

  • You can even click ā€œwatchā€ to see their 90-sec pitch videos
